The Psychos are doing three charity gigs in 2018 and this one was the first.
We had been contacted nearly a year ago by Clare Hope, about a fundraising event for the PARC charity, and having looked at the website we agreed to play. Clare has since been unwell, and Juliet Brown took over the organising reins and has done a fantastic job - hope you are on the mend Clare and it was lovely to meet your husband and daughter Sarah.
Here is a little about the charity:
PARC (Essex) is a registered children's charity based in the beautiful setting of Great Notley Country Park, near Braintree in Essex.
Our aim is to provide play and recreation facilities for children with additional needs and short break care for their families and carers.
At PARC we believe, every child has a right to play, regardless of their individual needs or abilities.
Above all PARC is a place where children can develop, learn and have fun, in a safe and friendly environment.
We currently help support over 500 families within the Essex area and there is no formal referral process, parents can contact us directly.
Who’s PARC ~ Georgina’s Story
As you can see it's a really worthwhile charity and apart from donations, they get no other funding help.
So we all felt very warm and fuzzy when we heard the event had raised over £600, which will make a real difference.
Not only that, we thoroughly enjoyed playing to a great crowd, with lots of dancing and joining in. It's also rare for the Psychos to have a little rest mid gig, to have a chat and eat some delicious sausage rolls supplied by our very own Psycho Chick, Paulette - thanks x. We won a couple of raffle prizes too - what a night !!
